PAMELA DAVIS AND HER MUSIC STUDENTS

PAY TRIBUTE TO VETERANS

FROM PAMELA DAVIS MUSIC STUDIOS

The holiday season is a great time for giving and sharing the gift of music, and in a time of war, who better to show our appreciation to than our war veterans. After tedious hours in the studio doing what she does best, Pamela Davis has finished a new CD, which features twenty songs of classic and original songs in memory of her grandmother, Minna D. Levine. For several months, Pamela has been working around the clock on the project at her Pamela Davis Music studios in Jupiter, Florida, and the final product exceeded the expectations of her musical protégés.

Pamela discovered a way to combine her love for music with honoring the life work of her Grandmother Minna D Levine by producing a CD to honor war veterans with proceeds contributing to the purchase of a large screen TV for the Day treatment center, and recreational funding for the VA Hospital in North Palm Beach. The CD is in honor of the selfless dedication of Minna and her devotion to improving the quality of life for veterans. Minna’s passion for helping veterans began when her husband served in World War I, and continued with over 20,000 hours of service throughout her life, attending to personal needs of veterans. Minna took pride in providing privacy for amputee veterans and founded The Amputee Veterans of America. Minna continued her service as National President of The War Veterans Auxiliary from 1950 to 1954, and she became a prominent voice for veteran’s rights, even being heard by the Presidents of the United States. She had many achievements and continued serving veterans until age ninety-three. The CD project of Pamela and her students honors Minna’s altruistic nature and establishes her legacy by bringing music that speaks to many generations.

The project took on many faces throughout developmental stages of each song, and the musical selection is extremely diverse to appeal to whatever musical taste satisfies the listener’s appetite. The song variety can be attributed to Pamela’s experience in the music world and the input of her students. Not many understood the capability of Pamela’s mastership of music and the integrity of her teaching, and the quality is reflected in the CD. Pamela personally thanked her students for working to perfect their respective parts, and she offered guidance and provided an opportunity for her students to experience professional recording. The listener can hear that Pamela takes her work seriously, but the music is mostly fun and melodic to lift the spirit.

The final product is a mastered compilation of classic songs her Grandmother would be proud of and others will enjoy. The production could not have taken shape without her students, and all the students and musicians became deeply involved in the project upon hearing the initial work. What began as an idea for a tribute album has turned out to be an impressive full production of twenty-five diverse songs on a double CD set.

The CD set includes dynamic music ranging from the Beatles to Green Day, and reveals the talent of Pamela’s instrumental and vocal students. What is so fascinating about the project is how all of Pamela’s students that wanted to be apart of the recording were given the opportunity. It is so evident in the musical selection that the production was a team effort, and Pamela did a great job of incorporating everyone.

Musical selection on the CDs’ include classic songs such as "Crimson And Clover," "Sweet Dreams," (the classic Blues tune) "The Sky Is Crying," "Euro dance version of the 1960's Happy Together," "Time Of The Season," and a Reggae / Ukulele version of "Over The Rainbow." Edgier songs include "Just a Girl," "Hard Rain' (written by Recording client Tony Mungin-Shaw) and The Rolling Stones "Mother's Little Helper." For the easy listener at heart, softer sounds include "Without You," "Stand By Me," and "Spoko' a Pamela original ." A good vibe moment comes at the end with "Tip Toe Through The Tulips", a reworking 1940's approach, put back to the way Nick Lucas originally intended.

Also featured are two local bands who each contributed one song for this project, The band "Second Hand Band"
features Dr Robin Sykes on lead vocals and her husband Dr Tom Rowe on Bass Guitar covering the 1980's classic "Don't Get me Wrong". The other local band is Point 0 Five covering the Jack Johnson tune "Good People". Both bands were in the studio recording with Pamela Davis when they learned of the project and wanted to contribute to help out.

Pamela did her part to motivate and guide each student through the recording process. Each student rose to the occasion and performed professionally. Vocalists range on the CD from sweet tones to sophisticated sounds, and each song is unique. Again, all proceeds will go to purchasing a big screen TV for the "Day Treatment Program" and also funding for "Recreation funding", which will supply food and partying supplies for the patients.

for the VA hospital in North Palm Beach, and Pamela’s website also features the history of Minna’s life work in service to veterans. The double CD set, which features Pamela’s gifted and dedicated music students and recording clients.
