Midi stands for 'Musical Instrument Digital Interface'. It was in 1982 that the three major manufactories got together and agreed on manufacturing standards for midi. Sixteen channels to transmit to a computer along with one hundred twenty-eight sounds (1-128 or 0-127 they couldn't decide on which way to count them), and the way we use midi has forever changed the music scene. The rest is as they say history. Twenty years later has brought a lot of improvements, and also a band-aid effect on the technology which has made it chaotic to use. Lessons on MIDI deals with the
basic configurations and progressing to more complex examples. Utilizing the latest in
technology will give the student the tools required to experience the wonders of music
programing and layering. All ages, all styles, and all levels welcomed.
